Charlotte: Yeah, I started about three years ago, and my first job was in Jessif, in the east of Poland. I was promised that I wasn't going to he to teach any beginners, or any little children because it was my first job, and I was promptlygiven the beginner infants. My first day of teaching I was given a book which said, "Ah! Go into the classroom and say 'Hello' to the children, and they'll all say, 'Hello' back to you and we". I walked into a class of five four-year olds, followed by all their mothers, and grandmothers, and I said, "Hello" and they all burst into tears. I spent half the lesson trying to get them to say,"Hello" to each other and stop them from crying while all the grandmothers stood around and stared at me. I finally finished off my singing the, whatever, Hy Princess Song, all on my own, with crying infants toacpany me. It was one of the worst days of my life. I could identify with all the children though, cause I wanted to sit on the floor and cry with them by the end of it. I think that that was when I realized that teaching kids was never going to be my vocation. I had some other classes as well but quit soon after that and moved onto *** s who cry slightly less. Um, yeah, that was my first teaching experience. Not the best.

E: I never really give them money because I don't want to contribute to their addictions.
D: Homeless youth can easily bee involved with drugs and prostitution. Do you do anything to help them?
E: I usually ask them if they want some food
and then give them something to eat. I figure that if they're homeless,
they're probably hungry.
D; That's a good idea. Do they usually accept the food?
E: Almost always. However, sometimes they get mad at me
for not giving them any cash.
D: It's sad how more and more young people are sleeping on the
streets in London now.
E: The cost of living in London is just too high for most people.
D: It's true. The economy is in a bit of mess at the moment.
E: Did you know that few people can pay the rent on minimum wage,
let alone pay for food and other living costs?
D: There just isn't enough affordable housing to go around.
If only the housing cost would drop, fewer people would be in
financial trouble.
E: Added to that is the high unemployment rate right now.
D: Something's got to change-and it's got to hen soon.
E:Politicians like to ignore the problems of the working class.
They like to focus on making life easier for the upper class.

J: No, but my father's car was destroyed in a flood once. It actually hened the day after he bought the car.

J: Yes, that was just a few years ago.
M: What was your first impression of it when you saw all the
survivors wading through the waters trying to get to the stadium?
] : In all honesty, I thought that I was watching a news story
about people tram a third world countly.
M: I know. It was absolutely shocking that the people
were taken care of so poorly in America.
J : In fact, I thought there was less chaos in Asia when
the Tsunami hit.
M: You might be right.
The evacuation and medical teams were able to assist
the survivors almost immediately in Asia,
whereas in New Orleans,
some people went without food or water for days.
J: It was such a disgrace.
M: Unfortunately, there were quite a few victims in both situations.
J : Mother nature has amazing strength to destroy whatever
is in her path.
M: Before the Tsunami,
1'd never seen a twenty-meter wall of water sweep up the beach.
J : Before Hurricane Katrina,
1'd never seen so many Americans wading in water up to
their waists and sitting on rooftops for days while they
waited for help.
M: When it es to natural disasters, no amount of money can se your life.
J: That may be true, but contributions can help people
start to re-build their lives.
M: If it weren't for international contributions.
Many survivors would simply starve to death.
